Isla Caranero in the Caribbean of Panama is part of the archipelago known as Bocas Del Toro. This place broke my friend Fidel's back and changed his life forever.
This last December I paddled the channel from Isla Colon over to Caranero with two old friends (Elgar and Gregory). From there we walked around the island and arrived at the reef break point. We surfed with a handful of guys (although the place gets packed now) for like two hours, came in cracked some coconuts and drank the milk, then walked the island again and paddled back over to Colon.
